Technology & Innovation Support Centre/ IPFC/ PIC Services
Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) has been rendering various services to industry & academia of Punjab and Chandigarh for Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) promotion and protection though its Patent Information Centre (PIC), which is supported by Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.
Based on the expertise, infrastructure and activity profile of PIC, PSCST, The World Intellectual Property Organization of United Nations with the support of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry Government of India has set up its 1st Technology & Innovation Support Centre (TISC) of India in PIC, PSCST. The agreement for setting up TISC at PSCST was signed between Govt. of Punjab and Govt. of India in July, 2017.
The Centre was inaugurated on 4thDecember, 2017 by Dr. Roshan Sunkaria, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Govt. of Punjab and Mr. Andrew Czajkowski, Head, Technology & Innovation Support Division of World Intellectual Property Organization of United Nations.
The following services are being provided by TISC to innovators and startups of region:
Facilitating access to International standard IP facilities to the innovators of the region in terms of database access for ascertaining the novelty & inventiveness
Filing of Patents, Designs, Trademarks and Copyrights
Training & Capacity building & IP Technology Scan Reports
Information on global inforce/off patent industrial inventions & Government initiatives for promoting innovations & IPRs
Case studies/best practices of other countries
Experience sharing platform
IP commercialization, technology transfer & licensing.
